Rating: - What retailers won't tell you.....
What the retailers won't tell you is that card speed matters if you want more performance out of your digital camera. Most will try and sell you what they have on hand. If your an avid photographer, spend a little more on your CF card to get a little more, you'll be much happier. Point and shoots will be happy with the cheaper models.Research pointed to LEXAR as the leader in CF technology. Good luck and happy picture taking.
Rating: - Problem Free for 2 Months
I've had both of my Lexar 256MB 12x CF cards for 2 months now and all is swell. I find these cards to be very reliable. My Usage: - Nikon Coolpix 4500 (4MP) - Audiovox Maestro (PocketPC 2002) I've taken close to a thousand shots since then and I have not had any problems. I haven't noticed any write speed issues at all, being that I know my camera is slow at writing the huge file size. I've transferred the photos via a CF usb reader & a cable hooked up directly to the camera. No problems; I just do a quick format of the card after I finish transferring the pics to the pc. I've put games, MP3s, WMAs, and other files onto them for use in my handheld and I'm pleased as can be. It comes down to peace of mind and I have not had any worries, thank goodness!
Rating: - Speed!
Wow! This puppy is FAST! I've used it in two cameras with great results. It's hard to believe what a difference the 12x speed makes. I'm an old 35mm photographer so I get very frustrated with the 'digital delay' - this card has really helped. I also love all the storage space. Now I don't have to feel like I'm sacrificing speed for space. Lexar has built a great reputation for quality and speed, and they've come through once again!
