Average Rating: Rating: - I will never buy any thing from toshiba I have one of the satellite models. The screen kept turning black soon after 1 year warranty. I called their technical support and they diagnosed it was a back light problem. I have to find a place myself to fix it. A friend of mine also has a satellite model.The floppy driver broke one week after purchasing. I am buying a new one, certainly not toshiba. And I will never buy anything from toshiba. Rating: - Great Machine We bought this for our daughter for commuter schoolwork. It quickly became the most popular machine in the house. Not the greatest on battery life, but fast, reliable, and extremely capable. Almost a year now and no problems at all. Amazon was prompt on their rebate, Toshiba needed a little prodding. I am tempted to buy another for myself - company HP machine looks sick next to it. Rating: - Love This Machine I bought this Toshiba laptop after selling an Apple iBook that I had owned for 10 days and absolutely hated (the Apple iBook was slower than Christmas!) The Toshiba is light years ahead of the Apple (although $... cheaper in price after rebates). It's incredibly fast, has a wonderful 15" screen, plays DVDs perfectly, runs 5 applications at once with no reduction in performance, has not crashed on me once, is beautifully designed, and is just an all round great machine. The only drawback is that it IS heavy - I'd hope that future models would be lighter than this one, but overall the positives FAR outweigh this one negative. This is the first Toshiba I've ever owned, and I'll definitely be buying another one. I've owned it for almost three months and couldn't be happier.
